Hi,
After all the windowsXP updates, my MS office and other MS product icons
have been replaced with the generic icon. All my office applications (work,
excel, access, powerpoint) have not been affected. Only the icons.

Is there a easy solution to restore the icons?

Hi
I have the same problem. Although I don't know when it happended (maybe
after I installed MOHAA) all MS Office icons, plus a few others, became the
generic type. I followed the route you suggested below, but I don't quite
understand what I'm supposed to do. There is nothing there related to
restoring original icons. However, I did uninstall MOHAA (bored of it now) so
I was hoping this may have had an effect - but no.

Any more suggestions? I am grateful for any help!

Tomo, The path to Display>properties>desktop>customize desktop>desktop
items will restore the desktop items to their default values, or you may
select other items here.
You can also right click on each icon on your desktop>properties>change
icon is also a valid approach for individual icons. Some will allow
this and some will not.
Is it possible that your display properties were reset to a lower
resolution by the updates? If so, reset the resolution and the color
qualities. ClaudeQUOTE]

I had the exact same problem - and just fixed it. First go to control panel
(classic view), then click on "Display", then go to the tab "settings", then
go to color quality and lower it a bit. The icons come back....
