MS IE blocking scripting problem ?

Is there any way to switch off the following DAMNED IE browser message ?
I'm trying to work through some tutorials that are IE browser based, and
this message is getting to be a REAL ....MASSIVE ******* nuisance !
I use F12 in Dreamweaver quite a lot, (to preview a *.htm page in IE), and
this IE "blocker/advice" bar is a REAL PAIN.

"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file
from showing active content that could access your computer" ?

I've tried doing what the bar says, i.e. wading through IE's Security
settings for the Internet Zone and allowing EVERYTHING, (...only while not
connected to my ISP of course :), ...I simply cannot get rid of it.
....I've been putting up with it for several weeks now, I can't exactly
remember when it started but, I suspect it was after some Windows Updates.

Another thing I've noticed is that in the IE's "Internet" security zone, it
won't let me drag the slider down below Medium. ...PLEEEZ no lectures on
internet security, ....I promise I won't reduce my security settings and
forget to put them back up before going online !

...any help muchly appreciated,

regards, Richard

Try going to internet options..advanced tab..scroll down to security and put
a check in Allow Active Content to Run in My Computer.

When going through the tutorial, are you connecting to an external web
site somewhere? Or are you opening *local* files on your hard drive
into IE?

THAT was it! *** HuuuuuuuuUUUUGE *** thanks to Ricky.
....I can't believe that I managed to miss that one, ...I've gone through the
"Advanced tab" settings countless times, as well as "Internet Zone,"
settings. ...I still can't believe it, ....just charged off to check
again ...still no sign of that little yellow shield in IE ...
.......MARVELLOUS !
....thanx once again :)
