MS Backup file nameing question

J

Joe Burnham

I'm not that familiar with Microsoft Backup, but have managed to
configure it (using the backup wizard) to run a weekly scheduled job to
back up the SYSTEM STATE on my Windows 2000 Pro machine.

I was sitting at the computer today and saw the backup run...yet when I
went and started the "restore" function, the only data files that could
be found were System State files dated July 26 and July 28.

I KNOW the backup worked... I saw it...and watched as the files were
verified after being copied.

What goes on here? I would have expected the restore wizard to show
show a System State backup with todays date.

Thanks for the help in advance...

Maybe you did a normal backup in which case the data was appended to another
backup. Try browsing the objects on the restore tab.
