MS antispyware observations and requests

I have recently downloaded and installed the new MS
Antispyware Beta 1. Installation went without a hitch.
Instructions seem to be fairly easy and operation appears
to be fairly easy compared to others with a few
exceptions. I want to note first and foremost that I am
bonkers about PC security after numerous problems in the
past. I constantly defrag and have all programs set at
maximum protection in all areas. I use VirusScan and
ZoneAlarm religiously. I also use Ad-Aware on a scheduled
basis. My system should be absolutley free of any problem.
BUT it wasn't. Despite the best efforts and software
available to me MS AntiSpyware Beta1 found 97 seperate
instances of spyware on my system the very first time it
was run. I was amazed that even when I told MS Antispyware
not to do anything and ran Ad-Aware again it still
couldn't find those 97 instances of spyware. I'M SOLD!
Keep up the good work
2 requests for MS to look at if you please-----1.There is
an annoying window pops up EVERY time my system boots up.
It says @gcasDtServHolder and has several blocks
underneath named systrayhide, systrayshow, systraynormal,
systrayscanning, and systray updating. This window does
not seem to go away until I click the X in the upper
corner no matter what happens or what button I click on.
It would be really nice never to see this thing again.
2. I have also noticed that when you click on the blocks
that tell MS Antispyware Beta1 how to scan that certain
clicked on boxes override the other boxes with no warning
that this will happen. It would probably be better to have
one clicked on box unclick the other boxes. I am speaking
of those boxes that tell it to deep scan a drive or not,
scan memory or not, etc. It took me about 5 scans to
figure out that it is only scanning the C drive no matter
what I do until those blocks are changed in a certain
manner as it does not tell you what is being scanned while
scanning is ongoing.

ALSO! For each and every one of those crybabies out there
ragging at MS----I have found that some people just can't
be pleased no matter what MS tries to do. Granted-they
have problems just like anybody else. But, the larger
anybody gets the larger the number of problems will be
reported. For those trying to blast anybody and anyone
just to make themselves feel important just try and
remember that MS is also the largest software company
providing services to the PC world. Before MS came along
99.9% of the world wasn't even smart enough to be able to
decipher how to use a computer. MS Has almost single-
handedly made the major part of the world computer
literate and capable of daily use of computers. That is
why they sell over 3/4 of the computer operating systems
in the world. NOBODY else has done for computers what MS
has done. Give credit where credit is due.

They will have more complaints simply because they DO
provide more service to the world than any other software
company out there. I personally have had less problems
with them than any other software maker out there. And
certainly their HELP department has been more existant,
more helpful, and more accomadating than any other
software company that I have dealt with. Quite simply,
those that have nothing good at all to say about MS are
totally welcome to go to another operating system and
shutup so the rest of us can get a little peace and quiet
and work on the real issues. For those that really want to
stay with MS operating systems and programs I strongly
suggest that you use common sense and listen to the
experts when they say USE A CLEAN INSTALL. Nearly every
computer program installation problem is related to
preinstalled programs that have been used and made CHANGES
to the operating system. Once you change the operating
system you have changed what Microsoft provided you with.
From that point on it isn't their fault but yours. But
take note that even then MS still tries to help you when
other software companies won't. Otherwise you wouldn't
have the opportunity to voice your opinions here on this
forum.

Ok, first of all: No single spyware program will catch all
spyware. Microsoft AntiSpyware missed the threats found on
MSN.com, their own page. If you use SpySweeper or another
product, it will pick up this threat. Second, the Apple
computer actually started the PC phase, even though I'm not
really an Apple fan myself. Third: Microsoft Windows OS is
95% of all computers, not 3/4. Also, if MS help is so good,
why do I always end up speaking to a guy with a thick
Mexican accent?

I will give you the point of how many services and
integration MS has given us. They have made it so that,
unlike Apple, users can choose the processor, case, brand,
etc that they would like.

I wish it was free. if its free ill probably use
microsoft antispyware tools but if its not i would stick
with adaware and spybot.

it would be a bad part on microsoft to release a spyware
tools making people to pay money in order to use the
software, why? first of all if there's no vulnerable hole
in the os there would be no spyware/adware at all. IF
microsoft really want user to be protected by
spyware/adware they should give it for free.
