MS Anti-spyware causes error message

Running XP Pro SP-2 up to date patches

Installed MS AS beta under my private user account (admin level), then log
into the built-in Administrator account causes error: box with only the word
Error in the title bar and the text "Unexpected error; quitting" and an Ok
box inside the window.

I'd be happy to send a picture, but this newsgroup doesn't support that. Any
input on why the program is dying when run at logon under the Admin user
account would be appreciated.

My gut instinct is that this derives from a problem with security
permissions on certain keys in the Registry: specifically that the key was
created with full rights for the CREATOR, rather than the ADMINSTRATORS
group. I am reluctant to publish a "fix" for this until I can get my hands
on a PC which is exhibiting these symptoms, and test it.

I have a really stupid question. When I run the
scan...It seems to stop at zyv5.exe and won't go any
farther. Any suggestions?

If you can't clean a given threat with Microsoft Antispyware and your
antivirus application, running both in Safe mode--I'd go for a different
product to do the cleaning--one way is to use one of the online antivirus
scanners that also targets spyware--Trend Micro's, for example:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com

First step--restart in safe mode and do full deep scan with Microsoft
Antispyware and your updated antivirus--if that still fails, try other
tools. If you can submit that executable to:

http://www.virustotal.com

you might get a name for it, which might help in finding a specific product
to clean it properly.
