Hello,
I have an Employee Info Mgmt system. (It does NOT contain payroll, or SS, etc,
however does contain personal home phone #s, addresses, etc. which employees
do not want publically available.)

NOTE: We are running on a Citrix desktop, thus everyone uses the path of: C:\
Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Access\System.
MDW for their system.mdw file.

NOTE: I did place a shortcut on the Citrix desktop that utilizes a "secured.
mdw" file for that application.

My Problem: If I go directly to the database (using my system.mdw) I can
open it without the secured.mdw being applied. Is there any way around this?
Did I miss something on securing the db?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are able to open a secured database by using the system mdw file,
then you missed a few steps when securing the database. If you will search
for previous posts on this topic, you will find many threads related to
this.

You need to make some backups and go back and secure your file. This time,
you will want to make sure to follow all the steps in order. Most likely
you missed the step somewhere around step 6 in Lynn's 10 steps link (the
last link below).

Read Garry Robinson's book, Real World Security for Microsoft Access (or
thereabouts) from APress.

It describes detailed strategies for securing databases and using mdw files,
but solid VBA skills are required.

No, I'm not Garry Robinson.
