This sounds good - has anyone tried it?

MRU-Blaster is a program made to do one large task - detect and clean
MRU (most recently used) lists on your computer.

These MRU lists contain information such as the names and/or locations
of the last files you have accessed. They are located ALL OVER your
registry, and for almost ANY file type. By looking at these MRU lists,
someone could determine what files you opened/saved/looked at, what
their file names were, and much more! (And, in many cases, the lists are
displayed in drop-down menus automatically.)

With additional plug-ins that allow you to clean out your Temporary
Internet Files and Cookies, MRU-Blaster enhances the protection of your
privacy!

MRU-Blaster is freeware/donationware. Please consider donating if you
like the program!

Works well.

Use it all the time. Have never had a problem with it on Win 98 or Win
XP.

I've also used it on Win98 and Win XP Home. Never even know it's running.

As far as the removal of MRU lists, it seems to do exactly what it says on
the tin (#9 in most hated clichés) however, in my experience (with XP Home
SP1) it doesn't clean out Temporary Internet Files (TIF) - it seems to go
through the motions, ie the progress bar makes it look as if it's cleaning
out the TIF files, but upon navigating to the TIF folder afterwards the
files are still there. And yes, the path is set correctly in MRU Blaster.
Don't want to put anyone off using javacool software (SpywareBlaster in
indispensable software IMO), just putting forward my own experiences.

Works great for me on my XP machine. The *only* problem I had with it
is when it is running in the background and I'm playing MAME32- It
returns me to my desktop. If none of that makes sense to you, then
don't worry about it ;) you will probably like the program.

I've been using it in the background for about three months now. It
seems to work well. I have it set to scan every 3 hours and I haven't
noticed any problems.

Trey, how do you get MRU-Blaster to run every 3 hours. I don't see an
option to set this within the program. Is this something you have set up
externally then?

MRU blaster comes with a program called scheduler.exe It usually sits
in the system tray and starts when windows does. If it doesn't just dbl
click on it and you can set the parameters of how often to scan.
