anybody know of a good freeware utility that will display both the
filenames and tags for mp3 files.

I'm trying to resolve issues where the filename and mp3 tag do not match.

Yup, just about any MP3 tag editor will do that. I like MP3 Book Helper,
which I think is Pricelessware. In any case, Pricelessware would be a good
place to start, because you know any programs listed there will be free and
good.
