moving or downloading e-mail to a cd

Is there a procedure for moving old e-mails to a cd?. I tried using the export option and created a pst file. I can copy that file to a cd but when I try to import that file back into outlook I receive the following error message:

Porperties for this information service must be defined prior to use.

after clicking ok on the above message I receive the following message:

File access id denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file D:\e-mail.pst.

The .pst file needs to be transferred back onto a hard drive and the "Read
Only" attribute needs to be removed before the .pst file can be accessed by
Outlook. Outlook cannot read .pst files directly from the CD.
