Reloading Outlook

My harddrive has recently been reformatted. Prior to doing so, I saved my
Outlook files to CD. I used the following procedure: Windows, Local
settings...Outlook. This is the pst file. When attempting to reload
Outlook, I first removed the read only, then utilized the Import procedure in
Outlook. I used Import from file .pst. Normally, this procedure works, but
this time I receive the error message "Properties for this information
service must be defined prior to use." What does this error message mean,
why is it appearing and what can I do to retrieve my Outlook files? By the
way, the computer I used to save this file to cd had a bad motherboard.

You copied the pst-file back to the HD already?
Instead of importing use File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...
