Movie Maker & MyDVD nightmare

I hope someone can help... (sorry this is lengthy, I am desperate and under
a deadline!)

Worked for DAYS on a 14 minute movie in MM2 with 5 different audio tracks
and still photos with transitions (no video used). Each photo is set
perfectly in time to correspond to the words of the audio tracks.

The first time I saved it I used "High Quality (large)" and then burned to
DVD using MyDVD v.5. The end result was the pictures flying thru the movie
super fast completely out of sync with the music (but the music sounded
great). The exact same thing happened when I saved a second time using "High
Quality NTSC"

The third time I saved the movie I chose DV-AVI, opened it up in Windows
Media Player and it was astonishingly perfect quality --- I almost
cried!HOWEVER,when I went to burn to DVD using MyDVD again, this time the end
result was perfect timing of the pictures and music, but all the music
skipped and sputtered and sounded terrible throughout the entire movie (not
just during the photo transitions, etc.).

These are the formats I used:
all photos -- hi res JPEG's
audio tracks -- four WMA's & one MP3
media -- Memorex DVD+R and also tried DVD+RW
burn speed -- 2.4x

This stuff is fairly new to me. Should I somehow convert the audio files to
MPEG2's before burning? Is this even possible? Where am I aquiring the
superfast slideshow and/or the audio degradation? What on earth am I doing
wrong? THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP/ADVICE!!!

however, if you do all this, you will have to start over from scratch on
your project. if your saved movie is playing fine in windows media player,
then your dilemma is in getting it to a dvd. If MYDVD is giving you
problems, I would download a trial version of NeroVision Express (and you
will need the nero .wma plug-in), or another DVD software (Neodvd, Ulead
Movie, Roxio) most have trial versions available to download. Import your
movie into one of those and try burning it. then you can play around with
different formats and options on a trial project when you have more time and
see if you can figure out why MYDVD will not work for you.

| I would start with changing the pictures from Jpeg to Bitmap. If you don't
| have an app which will batch convert, download Irfanview from here

| I'd also get rid of the mp3, change it to WMA, cdex is great also on the
| above page.

Thanks for the advice...I think I will try the Nero download first as
rebuilding will take me forever (some photo durations are 8 seconds, and some
are 10.5 seconds, etc.) and my saved DV-AVI file is crystal-clear perfect. I
do like the user friendly MyDVD but this isn't the first time I've had this
problem with burning and unfortuately Sonic's tech support is less than
stellar (I never even heard back from them). Does the burn speed have any
effects at all (2x, 2.4x or 4x)?

I'll have to agree with what the guy said above, use Nero. The learning
curve isn't all that steep and all of the results I have seen are great.
