movie maker - asf not displaying when played

Hi, I'm Suzanne. I've been using movie maker for some time now, but I
recently used another persons camera to take some clips. This camera has asf
format and when I drag a clip into the storyboard and press play to view it,
I can't see anything. Even though the clip is playing.

Does anyone have any good ideas that might help overcome the problem?

Do I need to convert the asf to another format? If so can you suggest a
free converter I can use?

Hi Suzanne,

It would be a codec issue, which might need you to convert the file before
importing. What camera brand and model is it?
