Is it possible to move the hard drive from one machine to
another WITHOUT having to reinstall Windows XP?
The two machines are configured differently, CPU's memory, video etc.

It *might* work - but given the diofferences you have - you will likely have
to perform a repair installation - which should leave everything intact.

Yes, but at the very least you will have to do a repair installation.
That usually works, but sometimes that isn't sufficient and you will
have to reinstall cleanly. So make you back up anything you need
before beginning, just in case.
