Move an Access created program to server and it won't work

We use a database program created in Access 97 on our network and need to
move it to our new server for the office to share. However, it does not work
once moved to the server, database and all. We have no clue what else needs
to be installed or run so it will function. No one in our office uses Access
so not sure what to do. Do we need to install Access on the server as well?
Is there some driver or function that must be installed first for the Access
program to run? The program runs fine off the old shared PC that is Microsoft
2000 Professional OS.

Hi Ruth
Do we need to install Access on the server as well?

No. Most servers don't have office installed. All you need is the tables,
the BackEnd, (that hold the data) on the server and the other "bits", the
FrontEnd, (forms, querys, reports, etc) are placed on each machine that will
access the the tables for their data.

There is a wizard you can use to do most of this - not sure about access 97
though.
Tools->Database Utilities->Database Splitter

Have a look at Allen Brown's excellent site for a step by step method to
spliting the database

Good luck
