i made the following post yesterday:

I have an e-machine. I am running windows xp home edition. If I leave my
computer on for an hour or so it will crash. I get a blue screen. At first
I though it was a software problem so I used the restore cd provided by
e-machines to reformat my hard drive. After doing this, my computer would
not boot up. It kept getting to a certain point a would keep re-booting. So
finally I turned it off. I then took out the memory chip and put it back in.
After this, it would boot up. But I am still having the same problems.
Every time I get the blue screen there is a different error message. Below
are two of them.

1. NTFS.sys – Address F76E80BC base at F76E2000, Date Stamp 3c58aa0

2. A process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited
or been terminated

I am now thinking it might be my hard drive. Is there any way to check and
see if it is in fact the hard drive. At the bottom of the blue screen it
says it has done a Physical Memory Dump.

I don’t know but maybe this information will give some clues as to what is
wrong. I have some EA Sports games that I a playing and right in the middle
of the game the program will shut down.

New post.
I downloaded the free programs and went to try them on my computer and now
my monitor will not display anything. I removed the memory and did not hear
a beep when i turned on my computer. Could it be that my motherboard has
gone bad. If so, where is the best place to buy a new motherboard? Thanks
for any help.

Clean the dust bunnies. (Front panel intake, rear panel exhaust).
Use memtest86+
<http://www.memtest.org/>
Configure to run all tests this may take over 12 hours.
You should be getting beep codes. Anything more then one beep
designates other problems.
