Monitor difficulties

I re-installed my Windows XP home, and now my monitor has gone psycho. I try
to adjust the pixels, some give me good color but icons items are very large.
Others give me the accurate size, but color is very distorted and ugly. I try
to change the properties of the monitor but the computer will not let me.
Right now im using 1024 X 78 pixels and the size is right but color is bad.
What can I do?

You need to reinstall your video card drivers. Then try setting the
resolution to around 1024x786 or higher with at least 16bit color. What
video card do you have? Try Everest Home from www.lavalys.com to find
out what you have and where the drivers are ;)

WXP is almost three years old. All drivers must be updated from the
mainboard on up.
Rule of thumb for reinstalling....

install XP***install latest mainboard drivers etc***install latest
directx***
install latest video drivers****install the latest drivers for the
rest of
the hardware.
