Here is the problem:
until 2 weeks ago, I had no problem with MM2, it was
awesome, yesterday I tried to edit a movie, and the
program shutdown in the exact moment I tried to add an
effect, name , tittle, or any edit action, I restarted ,
reinstale it, I dont know what else to do it keeps
closing the program, any Idea
I use a Dell Dimension 2400 256 Ram , Intel integrated
video 64 mb (a week ago I upgrade the driver from
Intel), Video capture ATI,
any Idea?

Two of the most common reasons for MM2
hangs/crashes/lockups/audio issues, especially when they
occur during project editing, can be worked around by
lowering the computer's hardware acceleration setting and
taking steps to preclude clashing with codecs used by
other software.
You can easily and quickly test these work-arounds
without rebooting the computer.

The conflict with the divxaf.ax codec is today's single
biggest reason for MM2 crashing. Start with that one -
find it, rename it (I suggest naming it divxaf.ax_ so you
can easily rename it back if you need to later), and then
test MM2. You don't need to reboot MM2 or anything to
test it. If that's not it, then go down this full page.
And if that still doesn't resolve it, go to the fuller
Problem Solving... Checklist page

NOW: How to do it?
This is What I did:
Start
Search, Then write *.AX
it will show you all the .ax files, order them by name
and look for divXAF.AX, and change the name by adding a _
the new name divXAF.AX_ and that is all
enjoy your MM2

bye bye

Hi There,

Or, you could download the tool I have made available called "Rename
Codecs" which will painlessly rename the known problem codec's so that you
can eliminate them as a possible problem, and then it will restore their
names afterwards...all done without you having to know where they are or if
you are renaming the right ones.

Best Wishes.....John Kelly
