Is this a MM2 Codec problem?

When I add a WMA or MP3 music track to edited clips in
MM2 and save the movie as DV-AVI or back to the camera, I
get annoying sound clipping in the music track. This
clipping usually corresponds closely to an edit in the
video stream but it doesn't happen at every edit! The
same problem is not nearly as apparent using WAV files or
if the movie is saved at at WMV quality. I prefer to
save at DV-AVI because this seems to produce higher
quality DVDs than WMV files do. Does anyone know if this
is a codec/bug problem in MM2 and if there is a work
around? What codecs does MM2 use to encode DV-AVI? Is it
possible to force MM2 to use particular codecs? GSpot
tells me I have 215 codecs on my machine! Would greatly
appreciate any advice. This is spoiling for me, what is
otherwise an excellent program.

The "MP3 to DV-AVI bug" has been there since MM2 was
first released. The only proven work-around AFAIK
is to convert the audio to WAV prior to importing.

I'm hoping that issues like these will be fixed in
MM 2.1 (to be released with SP2), but I'm not going
to hold my breath...

Bob, thanks, yes using WAVs does overcome most of the
clipping but not all. Are you aware of any patch on the
horizon for this fault? When is SP2 due out please?
