MM2 and Windows Media 9 Capture Fix

Hi

I am trying to transfer Video 8 through my DV Cam Sony TRV22 (has analog-digital pass through funtion) with a firewire to my computer. I couldn't capture directly into MM2 so after researching all day today, I found on PapaJohn's site the Limitations section for MM2, which gave me the info for the Media 9 Capture tool

I've downloaded Windows Media 9 Capture and it allowed me to capture video, however, I cannot open the file in MM2. Win Media 9 is suppose to save files as .avi's, but it hasn't and I can't figure out why

Does anyone have any idea as to what I did wrong? I know I can copy the Video 8 to the DV Camera and then use the DV tape to get into MM2, but I'd like to skip that process if I can

Thanks
Sandy

I think I found my answer...duh. In the Help section it said that the Windows Media 9 Capture Tool would not add the .avi extension, you have to type it after your file name. Duh! Anyway, it looks like it's working. I love MM2 and I've only used it for a few days.

I've used DVIO in the past and it works OK for pulling video from camcorder
via firewire.

You can also look over the capture tools section on dvdrhelp.com for more
possibilities. see http://www.dvdrhelp.com/tools?section=5#5
