Scene Detection with old video capture?

I used a digital 8 camera to capture an old analog 8mm tape to a DV
file on my PC.
Is there a feature in Sony Vegas 7 that allows me to split into scenes
either automatically or manually?
What about Windows Movie Maker 2? I tried that little checkbox when I
imported the file in MM2, and it didn't detect any clips.

Scenealyzer Live has an optical scene detect feature. It works pretty well
and can be tuned for sensitivity. It is not, however, 100% -- expect
errors.
