missing Safely Remove Hardware icon

Hello,

I have a laptop running Win2K+SP4. All of a sudden the "Safely Remove
Hardware" icon was gone from the system tray. Also I use a wireless pcmcia
card. I used to see both icons - Safely Remove Hardware and Networking one.
Although the "Show icon in taskbar when connected" is checked in the LAN
properties menu, I can't see it.
What is wrong ?
