Missing Primary Key and Scrambled Data

Hi All,

I'm trying to import Excel 07 files into Access via the import wizard. I
let Access add the primary key. However when I open the file in design
view, no fields are selected as the primary key. In addition, in Query
design, no relationships are established. What happened?

Also, does anyone know why Access occasionally scrambles the order of the
rows? It’s quite frustrating!!!!

Thanks,

John

Letting Access add a primary key does not use any of the existing fields in
the spreadsheet. It will add a field that is an autonumber field.

Importing to a new table does not establish any relationships.

The physical order of rows in a relational database is not important.
Unlike a spreadsheet, it has no meaning for an application. You establish
the order when you use the table in a query, a form, or a report.
