Missing My Pictures

M

Mike Reed

I posted this once before but I cant find it now!
I moved "my pictures" to a networked drive to save disk space on my laptop.
Now I can no longer access that drive. So when I try to install new software
i get an error msg that says "can't access\\drive\c\miks stuff\my pictures"
I have created a new My pix.. folder in my profile under my docs.. I have
run the comand line "rundll32 mydocs.dll,PerUserInit" witch seemed to
reinstall the desktop.ini for the folder. But I can't seem to change the
networked path setting for this folder.
Help Anyone??
Thanks in advance
Mike

Use regedit.exe to look at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders
change the path to My Pictures.

I made the changes in regedit but was unable to change the frist part of the
line witch says "REG_SZ" Im sure it should say "REG_EXPAND_SZ" but I can't
seem to change that part.
Thanks for your help

You don't change it. You delete the REG_SZ and create one with
REG_EXPAND_SZ
