Missing icon in control panel

MS Knowledge Base Articles 310490 and 308417 claim tha
Windows XP control panel contains an icon named
Performance and Maintenance.

My Windows XP does not have this icon. Anybody has
information on this problem?

your probably in classic view,in the control panel,upper
left switch to catagory view,performance and maintenance
icon is on the bottom left.if you switch to classic view
(which I like myself)it seperates them.And you'll have to
access them differently.ie:adjust visual effects,in
P-and-M will be----- system icon,advance tab,settings
button in the performance section in classic view ,will
take you to the same place(just different ways to access
them).
