Missing HD Space

I'm really new to Vista and yesterday for some very strange reason it
crashed, leading to the Blue Screen.....I managed to fix it with an automatic
startup recovery, but ever since I've been missing close to 500 MB....I'm
sure it is stored deep within the temp folders, but Disc Cleanup is not able
to detect it, and I have no clue as to how to go about it manually! Could
someone tell me where to find those temp files?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Try manually deleting it. c:\Users\*YourUserName*\AppData\Local\Temp
You can delete everything in this folder, and select *Skip this* for the
files that are in use. I do that once a week.
Also, check the Automatic restore points. It's on System Properties > System
Protection. Not sure the size of those as I have always turned them off.

Hope that helps.

Hi Rafael, found the files just where you said, deleting them now, close to
350 MB. Oh, and found a bunch of temp files in the Windows folder....are they
safe to remove? They are takin up another 250 MB. And yea I dont have System
Restore on either, so no worries there

Hello roy69, i have a fairly new HD, its a laptop actually - running Home
Premium....aboout 2 and a half months old, so dont think there shoud be
issues there, but will run scandisk just to be sure anyway!

Thanks for the help guys.
