Hi there!
Last night I installed the most recently downloaded Windows XP updates and
since then, every time I connect to the internet the flashing 'dial-up
connection status' icon is missing from my taskbar... If I go to my Network
connections, it says 'disconnected', even though I am clearly connected to
the internet (emails download and I can surf the web). If I chose to
'refresh' the Network connections folder the icon suddenly appears and the
status changes to 'connected'.
Does anyone know why this happened and how to fix it? I have checked and
the box inside network properties saying 'show icon in notification area when
connected' IS ticked. As I say this started after running XP updates... I
use broadband, but have several older dial-up connections still saved on my
computer and the same thing is happening with all of them. I also
reinstalled my broadband connection but the new installion is doing the same
thing.
Any help/comments gratefully received!
