Minor Problems SP2?

Since installing SP2 I have two minor problems.
Not sure if SP2 is responsible or some other problem.

1. When I click on the chevron at the end of the Quick Launch bar to display
hidden icons, a totally blank sub-window shows up for 1 to 2 seconds and
then the icons in the Quick Launch are finally displayed.

2 When I click on the BACK button in IE, the status bar shows that the
computer is attempting to load itself (127.0.0.1 is displayed) and nothing
happens. This occurs for two or three clicks on the back button, then
finally it will go back to the previous page. The Back Button drop-down
window still works Okay.

Running XP home edition on Pentium 4 2.6GHz, 512 MB RAM. Using AVG 7 Pro as
antivirus
and a full system scan finds no problem.

I use a Router on the Internet connection and only the Windows Firewall.
(Zone Alarm found no traffic for 3 months and I removed it.)

I have run Ad-AwareSE and Spybot, with updates, and they report a clean
system.

Additional information on the Back Button problem.
The Status bar display shows that it first tries to go to the "doubleclick"
site which I have blocked with a host file setting
the display is something like http://doubeclick.com/(then the previous page
url) The status bar display drops so quickly I could not get an exact
quote.

Follow-up. The Back Button problem is caused when I link to a site that has
"Doubleclick" or other blocked Ads. My host file blocks these ads, but IE
recognizes them as pages that it tried to go to. Looking at the drop-down
menu for the Back Button, I see two previous pages that read
http://ad.doubleclick.net/adi/N1974/Yahoo
My first two clicks on the back button attempt to load these ad pages, but
the host file redirects them to 127.0.0.1.
This problem does not exist on my laptop which does not yet have SP2
installed.
It would be nice to know what SP2 security feature added this little quirk.
