Hi all,

I am debating to move my website from NetObjects Fusion to MS Front
Page. Can anybody please tell me how I can do this and if it is
advisable to do this?

Thanks and Regards,

Do you know anything about HTML? NOF is industry standard for writing
spaghetti code (much of it invalid, too). How large is your site (how many
files)?

The biggest problem with NetObjects Fusion is the initial design is created
in a database, then exported to HTML. At least, that's the way it was when I
last used it :) It was a nice concept in that it attempted to do
pixel-level layout. The issue though is there is no way to import that
NetObjects Fusion database into any other program. That means you would have
to first export the site to HTML then import it into a FrontPage Web.
Depending on how complicated your site is, this could become a terrible pain
as each page is disconnected in that there is no navigation structure or
common headers and footers, they're all individual pages. It might be easier
to try and create some DWT templates in FrontPage to get a standardized
template and test copying and pasting some of the HTML from your pages into
it. That would give you an idea if it's worth doing. It may be a moot point
though as often need drives our choices. To get more features and modern
functionality you may need to move from NetObjects Fusion to another program
such as FrontPage (or the new MS Expression Web), Dreamweaver or similar
program so it may be just a matter of when rather than if.

Thanks for the replies. My site has about 100 files. I know a little
bit of HTML.
From the suggestions so far it seems like a good idea to move away
from
NetObjects Fusion. I will do that. Is there any mechanism in the
software(NOF)
to export the website to MS Front Page?
Thanks guys!

Thanks Mark for the information and for the reply.
How do I export the site to HTML? does NOF atleast give that as a
direct option
or do I have to do that manually? I tried to look around in the
software but couldn't find anything.
Thanks so much!
