I wonder should I install this software into my computer. I play games a
lot. Other than that I use my computer to play internet. Is this .NET
nessersory? Will it take away a lot of computer resource? Will the game run
faster or slower?

It shouldn't really effect your gameplay, or system resources. The .Net
framework is basically just a bunch of files, really. They allow
programmers to condense their programs, use less code, and have more
functions, knowing that the required files are already on the user's
computer. The .Net framework is good to have, because sooner or later,
you'll download a program that needs them to run, and then you'll either
be glad you have 'em, or be really mad that you don't yet :)

It's necessary to run programs that use it. If you don't have any
programs that complain about your not having it, it's not
necessary.

On the other hand, more and more programs will be using it, and
even if it's not necessary for you now, it likely will be soon.

Will it take away a lot of computer resource?
Will the game run faster or slower?

It won't make any difference to what you run now. For future
programs, it's not a matter of whether it runs faster or slower,
but whether it runs at all.

I am using a ATI 9800pro graphic card. ATI Catalyst Control Center requires
to install Microsoft .Net Framework to make it work. But I read some
articles which indicate that when use together, Catalyst Control Center takes
away a lot of memory and virtual memory. I just wonder should I keep the (1)
Microsoft .Net Framework, and use ATI control panel, not use CCC, or (2) not
use both Microsoft .Net Framework and ATI CCC, but just keep ATI control
penal?

Sorry, I don't know anything about "ATI Catalyst Control Center"
and can't tell you anything about it.

Postpone installing it until you want to use specific software which
needs it.

It is the end user module of a program writing tool. If you want to
run Joe Smith's software and Joe Smith wrote it using the .Net
Framework API then you need .Net Framework to run Joe Smith's
software.

I don't see too many softwares now using .net framework. After I install
..net, Windows XP takes longer time to load. I play game a lot, will .net
improve the game performance or it has no effect on it. But I think if it
takes away more memory or virtual memory, it will reduce the performance of
other applications. I am using 1mb (2x512) of Ram.
