microsoft xp scanning

i have windows xp home sp3 with all updates except ie8 installed on my
computer. i have a lexmark z82 all in one printer/scanner with the updated
drivers for xp from lexmark. windows xp will not reconize my scanner so i can
use it without using adobe photoshop or some other program other than from
microsoft. i like windows live photo but can not scan from it as it will not
reconize my scanner. is there a solution? thanks

Uninstall the All in One unit (there may be an uninstall utility from
Lexmark to make it easier) and disconnect it from the PC. Then install the
updated software from the Lexmark website and do NOT reconnect the
printer.scanner until the software tells you to do so.
