Microsoft Works?

I am running Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3.

I also run Microsoft Works v4.5 for Win 95 and it does exactly what I need
it for.
I do have a new version of Works but it does not do what I need it to do as
easily.

Everything was fine until I received two Security Updates:

Security Update for Microsoft Works 8 (KB956483);
Security Update for Microsoft Works 8 (KB959487).

If I allow these updates then the Old version no longer works.

Is there anything that I can do to allow automatic updates AND still use the
Old version of Works?

Thanks.

G'day,
I am sure you can, pop over to the MSWorks Newsgroup,
or search through (That NG's ) archives through Google.
It has been addressed before.
I am a MSWorks afficianado, and used it for 12 odd years,
Version 4.5a is the best IMHO, subsequent versions
were all downgrades.
I have 4.5a on my XP and it works fine.

Perhaps after the security updates just reinstall 4.5a
It only takes about 3 minutes or so.

Don't allow those two updates to install.

Change your autoupdate to inform you when any updates are ready to install.

You then use "custom" install and de-select those two. Let the rest
install.
