Haven't tried it yet, anyone else tried it?

I tried it briefly. Basically, it integrates and automates defrag, backup
and a firewall, as well as monitoring installed antivirus (it may do more
than this, but I lost interest). I'd say it's weak compared to dedicated
apps, but it may be useful for novice users who don't want to look under the
hood. The beta is free, but eventually it will be subscription based.

I tried it and it wouldn't run. I tried to create some debug info but ended
up with a onecare.zip file that was 161kB in size but empty. Then I tried to
uninstall it - there isn't an uninstaller created but there is a command
executable in the install folder.

After a reboot, I found that all was not well and in fact the system still
contained onecare beta, so I rolled back to a system restore point. I think
I will leave this beta alone.

FWIW, after installing the W.O. beta I did have an uninstall option in the
Add/Remove Programs applet, and I was able to uninstall it without
difficulty. The main problem I see with it is how limited it is for anyone
who is already aware of the need to protect and maintain the system.
Onecare may be useful for those who don't know how to do these tasks and who
don't mind paying for a subscription. More computer literate folks are
already doing these tasks with freeware or third party software. Just MHO,
of course.

I us it with norton system works 2006.Install the beta program first
and run all your programs to let the beta know which ones can use the
internet. Then install system works if you have it.Norton will ask you
if you want it to disable the windows beta program. If you let norton
try to disable it.You will have problems just say no and they work fine
together.I like the beta program. Its simple to use.And have had no
problems with it at all when i installed it the way i said.It beats
norton with some scans. When in explorer and you want to scan a file it
runs instead of norton. But norton works fine if you want to scan one of
your drives.
