When I first start Adobe Reader (6.0.1), XP attempts to
install the Microsoft Windows Journal Viewer, which leads
to the following messages:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network
resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a
folder containing the installation package 'Microsoft
Windows Journal Viewer.msi' in the box below.
The path, 'C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS..' Does not exist.
I eventually get a message to the effect that Microsoft
Windows Journal Viewer cannot be installed. I click
several cancel install buttons, and finally Adobe Reader
runs. I can then view files.
All current critical updates have been applied. The only
optional updates not applied are for movie maker and a
modem driver. I use neither.
This is very frustrating. Is there anything I can do?
Thanks,
Richard
