Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Runtime Error

G

Guest

I recently reinstalled my Windows XP and is now updated to SP2. When I
installed my Lexmark X5270 multipurpose printer, I now receive an error -
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Runtime Error! - Program:
C:\Program Files\Lexmark 5200 Series\lxbtaiox.exe - This application has
requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the
application's support for more information. Before reinstall of Windows XP,
the printers software worked perfect
Uninstalling and reinstalling Lexmark doesn't help. Removing all reference
to Lexmark from the registry doesn't help. No help from Lexmark support.
From searching internet, it appears this may have something to do with SP 2
as others report similar problem but no resolution.

Go to the Microsoft download web site and do a search for VisualC++
redistributable and download the version(s) you need.

Thanks Jerry
How do I determine which version(s) I need. My computer is a E Machine with
an AMD ATHLON 64 processor if that makes any difference.

Are you using the X64 version of XP or the 32bit XP? If x64, you will need
to get the x64 version of the driver from Lexmark if you have not previously
downloaded it. I do not think Lexmark has yet shipped x64 drivers on
installation CD with the printers.

Thanks for your reply. I am using Windows XP Home which I believe is the 32
bit XP. It came installed on my E Machine T6410.
Jerry had suggested downloading Visual C++ redistributable. There are a
number of versions on Microsofts donload web site. Can you confirm for me
which I need? Thanks.
