Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error

after downloading windows update service pak 2, and restarting the computer,
I get a Microsoft visual C++ runtime error message when the computer boots
up. What is this and how do I fix it?

I get the same message, although my computer said it
could not complete update. I use Ghostsurf and am trying
again after disabling Ghostsurf. I noticed that since
this error message started the computer will not go into
stand-by unless I log out of my profile first. Please
let me know if you find an answer elsewhere and I'll do
the same.
