Microsoft spyware

I recently downloaded this beta version whe I found I had
a problem with 'Homesearch' which hijacks the IE browser.
Although this may not be strictly spyware it did not
detect and remove.
I was also confused over the changes that were constantly
made to the browser.
Would it not be useful if there was more guidance and
this software was to cover a slightly wider range of
hijack problems?

Nchesh--that problem sounds exactly like the sort of thing Microsoft
Antispyware is intended to handle.

Did Microsoft Antispyware not detect the hijacker at all?

Did it detect it, but not successfully remove it?
You can update your definitions via File, check for updates.

If it detected but did not remove, it can help to restart your machine in
safe mode, and do a full scan in safe mode, scanning repeatedly until one
comes through clean.

You should also submit a Tools, suspected spyware report from the infected
machine--that'll help make sure your bug is covered in the future.
