Microsoft Speech Recognition

I have a Dell laptop running XP. The system crashed on a normal powerdown.
The was using DeLorme Street Atlas 2006. When I brought the system back up
and started thr mapping application I had lost voice recognition and audio
output. I ran the audio test using the control panel inco. Everything
tested OK using my headset. The speech icon comes back with unable to create
engine. I have uninstalled and installed the DeLorme software. It comes
with Microsoft's speech recognition software. It still does not work. I
also have Dragon Naturally Speaking installed. Can someone please help me
register one of these yo the system?

Reinstall the speach engine you can get off the microsoft web site.

ended up rebuilding the entire system reinstalling everything problem fixed
