I received an email from:
Microsoft Security Update
Date: 8/20/2003 3:46:45 PM Eastern Daylight Time
From: 0_51331_3C8D11FF-A778-4BF6-B724-
(e-mail address removed)

regarding:
SECURITY BULLETIN MS03-034
Security Update for Microsoft Windows
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=237617
SECURITY BULLETIN MS03-035
Security Update for Microsoft Word
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=237618
SECURITY BULLETIN MS03-036
Security Update for Microsoft Office
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=237619
SECURITY BULLETIN MS03-037
Security Update for Microsoft Visual Basic for
Applications
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=237620
SECURITY BULLETIN MS03-038
Security Update for Microsoft Access and Access Snapshot
Viewer
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=237621

So, I go to the Updates and scan...first of all I don't
even know if I need all of them - stand alone, dial up,
no network of any kind. Here's the thing...none of these
Critical Updates appear when I run the Update. I can
access the Bulletins, but the link from them is just the
Update page - not the specific update. Help????? All
these updates are too confusing for me! There's some
listed that just seem to be for servers or on networks so
I'm not doing those...that ok? Thanks...You can email me
at (e-mail address removed). Plain english for this non-techie
please? thanks again!

You may not need them, particularly if you don't have the product it relates
to installed. If not, it won't show up on Windows Update. Office updates
won't show up there, nor will Visual Basic for Applications updates.

Only updates that apply to Windows, and the components that are included in
it, will appear on Windows Update. If you have Microsoft Office installed,
go to http://office.microsoft.com/ProductUpdates/default.aspx to get updates
for those products.
