Microsoft Plus! sp2 issue

i'm having an issue with sp2.
in service pack one i can update microsoft plus for windows xp, install the
add-ins and everything, but in sp2 i can't.

i know this because i had to reimage my pc because of a big issue and i
installed sp2 before installing microsoft plus. about 10 seconds into the
installation of the add-ins or updates the installer just disapears. please
help.

microsoft plus digital media edition works just fine though.
