I am having a little problem with Microsoft Outlook in Windows 7. I tried to
ask in Microsoft Answers but a Microsoft representative suggest me to ask my
question here.

My problem:
I have been using the E-Mail shortcut button on my keyboard for several
years in Windows XP. I love to press that button several times until
Microsoft Outlook pop up to the screen in a single window.

However things have changed since Windows 7. Press the button several times
will result in multiple windows of Microsoft Outlook appear. Well I know I
can add a switch /recycle for a Windows shortcut for reuse the window, but
how can I do that on a shortcut button on my keyboard instead?

That's completely up to the configuration software of your keyboard. Edit
the startup path to outlook.exe there to have it include the /recycle
switch. If that only says "Launch Email Client" or something to that effect,
you'll have to make a custom button out of it where you can specify the path
to the application that you wish to launch.

Well I did not install any software or driver for my keyboard. It just use
the default driver provided in Windows. So there is nothing to do with that.

I can also see that the /recycle switch is there in the registry. Just that
it seems it is ignored by Windows 7 or what.

Wven so, there'll be a Control Panel that allows you to modify those
special-use keyboard buttons.

The /recycle button description in Help says it is used in conjunction with
the /explorer or /folder switch, but up until Outlook 2007, it could be used
separately as well. Perhaps Microsoft has modified Outlook 2007 so as to
enforce the presence of one of the other switches in order for /recycle to
work.

Are you sure? Well at least I couldn't find that in my Windows 7 nor Windows
XP.

Well the answer is no need. I created a shortcut, add only the /recycle
switch, and it works as what I expected.
