When I open Outlook 2003, I get the subject error message box:

C:\Documents and Settings\my name\Application
Data\Microsoft\AddIns\C:\PROGRA~\MICROS~4\OFFICE 11\ADDIns\outbak.dll'" is
not a valid office Add-in.

I have to click on the OK for the program to continue.

I have done a complete system search for all possible combinations of the
above error message and get 0 repsonses for any files. I have repaired and
reinstalled Outlook and the error message continues to appear.

Can anyone explain what is causing this and how I may get rid of it?

WinXP Pro, SP1 with all current fixes.

Thanks

Hi!

Start Regedit and check the subfolders of following folders:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins

Note, that you can enable/disable add-ins through Outlook (see q. 3 at
http://www.mapilab.com/articles/outlook_faq.html ) only when add-in
record is in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

When add-in record is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, you have only one tool --
Regedit.
