You do not need .NET Framework, don't install it unless you
have an
application or hardware that needs it. If you do I suggest
getting rid
of anything that uses .NET ASAP.
He may not need it now, but as more and more developers use it,
he will likely need it soon.
When I first installed it, I had no applications that used it.
Today, I have two. Next year, I'll undoubtedly have more. There's
little reason to avoid installing it, especially since most of us
will need it sooner or later.
Its like .NET Passports, you need them like a hole in the head
as well
but MS implies that they are essential, they are not.
..NET framework is essential only if you want to run applications
that use it. As I said, most people will, sooner or later. It's
very similar in this regard to the various VBRun runtime files;
you need them if you run Visual Basic applications that need
them.
