"Microsoft Jet Database Engine could not find the object 'database

Twice in the past week I have gotten the error message "Microsoft Jet
Database Engine could not find the object 'databases'" when I attempt to open
a database. I cannot get the database to open. Please let me know what may be
causing this and how I can recover from this.

The database was created with Access 2000. I now have Access 2003 but the
other users still have Access 2000.

At times like this, nothing beats a good backup. In fact make a complete
backup of your databases now and put themaway for safe keeping.

Tony Toews has an excellent web page on database corruption.

Allen Brown also has excellent info on corruption.

I have a white paper in a Word document named Fix Corrupt Access Database
towards the bottom this page:

MDB isn't stable enough for real-world use.

Access MDB is for lepers and retards.
Spit on people that use it.
