FOR SOME REASON I LOST MY MICROSOFT EXCEL ICON AND PROGRAM NAME IN MY
PROGRAMS, BUT MICROSOFT EXCEL STILL WORKS ON EXCEL SPREAD SHEETS. HOW DO I
GET THE ICON BACK INTO MY PROGRAMS?

Why all upper case lettering?

Create a shortcut and/or perform a repair on the office product or a
diagnostic (depending on your version of Excel - which you left out of your
details.)

The shortcut is missing. You will get advice as to how to create a shortcut
which is identical to the one you formerly saw if you post this request to
an Office newsgroup.

The program is WinWord.exe, and it is located in a folder in C:\Program
Files\.

Hmmm...

I don't think "winword.exe" will load Excel for the original poster (or
anyone - by default.) ;-)

OOPS. Don't know why I looked for WinWord.
The Excel program is in there somewhere as well.

I found WinWord in the Office12 folder. That folder would be a good one to
search.

Yes and the program name would be Excel.exe.
