Microsoft ebook reader question

Please forgive me if this is not the right group for this question. I used
to use Microsoft's ebook reader and purchased several ebooks on line. The
computer I was the using has been replaced and, even though I have
reinstalled and successfully reactivated the reader I cannot open the books
due to this frustrating DRM business. I have cruised all over the revelant
website and cannot locate anything about it. Does anyone know a way to get
this sorted? I am not wanting to make copies or infringe the darn
copyright - just read the books I paid money for. Surely there must be some
sort of way around this, or this whole DRM thing is just a huge turnoff.
TIA.
