I am running updated versions of "Trend Micro AntiVirus plus
AntiSpyware" and "Spy Sweeper" on a Gateway GT5220 (Windows XP Media
Center Edition Versio 2002, Service Pack 2; aka: XP Professional V.
5.1.2600, Service Pack 2, Build 2600) home computer.
I haven't been able to find anything on Google or other web sites about
this.
(Before anyone jumps to the conclusion that this a Quicken Basic
2006/Power2Go 4.2 problem, please remember that Control Panel/Windows
Explorer is apparently involved.)
I have been using Quicken Basic 2006 and Power2Go 4.2 to backup the
Quicken files to a DVD+RW disc in my E:\ drive. Loading a DVD+RW disc
would automatically open up what looked like a Control Panel; (with the
horizontal lines and the alphabetical order). It would show not only
the E:\ drive contents, but also the contents of the Microsoft CD
Burning folder, with 'comments' like "Files ready to burn to disc", or
some such.
Not any longer. Now it looks like a Windows Explorer. (Unless of
course I'm loosing my mind) )
My Power2Go 4.2 program displays the contents of the disc in my E:\
drive in its lower 'panel', where a side panel labled "Disc compilation"
shows a 'tree' of the disc. The upper section has a side panel labled
"Select source", which shows a 'tree' of the whole computer. 'Picking'
E:\ in that tree USED to show the contents of the "C:\Documents and
Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning"
folder in its upper 'panel'.
Not any longer. It shows only the disc contents in BOTH 'panels'. I
have to 'work-my-way' through the "Select source" tree to the CD Burning
folder in order to backup/burn the Quicken files.
The only thing I remember doing in/to the CD Burning folder is removing
a shortcut to Media Player that I found there. I don't know how it got
there and I don't remember seeing it there before.
Several days ago I DID download and install TweakUI and changed the
Windows Explorer folder hierarchy order back to the way it used to be
(with My Documents below My Computer). I have NO idea how it got
rearanged.
I tried a couple of System Restores to earlier dates, but I was not
satisfied with the changes they made so I did an Undo Restoration both
times.
