This is not Beta 2 on the microsoft web site. It is still Beta 1. It has a
newer release date with the latest definitions already installed in the
program.

Anita, If microsoft released Beta 2 and made it available for download it
would be announced right here from a microsoft rep with [MSFT] after thier
name in the posting. Also with possibly a link in the posting pointing you
to the download page.

Thanks, Ed--that might be the source of the confusion.

The download available is being rev'ed regularly to include the current set
of definitions. There'd be a clear announcement if new code were available.

Thanks Bill and Ed,

so that is the only difference between the 1/14/2005 and
1/27/2005 release?

Same product version (still beta1 v1.0.501 , just packaged
with updated definitions.

Yes--I'm not sure how you are seeing the dates, but the binary at the
download site is being updated with each definition release. When they
change more than just the definitions, I suspect there will be loud
noises--we'll all know.
