MFT

Does anybody now how to defrag the MFT? I, for the longest time I had 2 file
fragments in the MFT and now I have 3. I know this may sound anal but from
what I have read the MFT is very important and it is good not to let it get
fragmented. I just would like to know in case I get more fragments in it so
I can defrag it. I ask because I ran the regular defrager that came with
windows and nothing has changed. Thanks in advance.

Get a good defragmenter. The two best ones are Executive Software Diskeeper
and O&O Defrag. If you don't like using 3rd party software then use
Diskeeper, cause it is the same defragger that comes with XP, only the full
version (XP's defrag-program is the small version of diskeeper and too is
from executive software).

No matter what you choose, every good defragmenter can defrag the MFT.

I found my old copy of Diskeeper 7 and installed it, now my MFT is defraged.
Thanks all for responding and reminding about Diskeeper.
