messanger removal

I have two users on windows xp. One is my brother's and one mine. He uses msn messanger quite a bit but I don't. Everytime I log onto my account I get a message saying that messanger is not properly installed in this pc and opens I.E. to download it. Now I hate this since it gets quite annoying. I was thinking of completely removing messanger but am concerned that then my brother will not be able to use it. My question is: what can I do to stop this annoying thing from appearing without affecting my brother?
