Message Notification for Printing

Murphy's law is alive and well. after searching hi and low I find most users
want to turn off the message notification balloon for printing. Well I have
one user that insists on having it, and it does not want to work. I Have
manually set it up in the printer settings, server properties, advance,
"Show informational notificatios for printers", I checked th registry per KB
831582 adn reset the registry setting manually and through the printer
settings, checked firewall setting to allow file and print sharing. Any
other ideas on why this PC will not show me the ballons? Windows XP SP2,
Dell GX620

Verify that the scope on the File and Sharing ports is for all subnets.

When the user prints, does the user name appear on the remote print queue?
Is this a domain or workgroup configuration?
